Mindfulness and Anger

Anger is not always a bad emotion: it is one of a range of many feelings that we might experience in our lives. Viewed mindfully, anger serves a purpose and can be helpful.
It enables us to become more aware, to see or uncover the feeling or feelings that lie within us.

Anger lets us know that something isn’t right.

Mindfulness and Anger with Michelle A. Hardwick of Release...PeaceUnderstanding Anger

The feeling that something isn’t right, can be attributed to many things: sometimes it’s because someone has violated a personal boundary or an agreement we’ve made. It can also be when a long-held belief or our self-belief is challenged. When we are angry and unaware, we blame and project our anger onto others.

When we explore what we are feeling, we begin to understand the reasons why we feel the way we do.

Mindfulness and Self-Reflection

Anger can be a tool for self-reflection. It helps us make changes as we explore what triggered us. If, in the future you get angry or are beginning to feel angry, try this:

  • Take a deep breath
  • Stay as open and as curious as possible, and ask: “What is it?”
  • Where did this come from?”
  • Why?”

Anger and Mindfulness with Michelle A. Hardwick of Release...Peace….  take time to discover what this situation and feeling is attempting to reveal to you.

The Gift of Anger

How would it feel to observe our anger in a compassionate and non-judgmental way?

If we can shift our perspective and thank our anger – we can utilize it to help us to grow and make deep, lasting changes.
